Lisa Zahiya began studying
bellydance in Baltimore with Piper, performing first as troupe member and then as a soloist with the
Baltimore Daughters of Rhea Dance Ensemble. A
Level II PiperMethod™ Certified Dancer, she also has extensively studied Tribal Style, Greek
Tsiftitelli, Turkish Romani, and Turkish Oriental with teachers such as Artemis
Mourat. Lisa Zahiya now lives in Asheville, NC where she teaches and performs
belly dance, and is a member of the Baraka Mundi live music and dance
