Baltimore Area Teachers who have trained with Piper
New Sessions begin 1/12/09. There is plenty of space and huge mirrors at Meadow Mill, so drop-ins are always welcome ($15/class or $60/5-week session). You do not need to wait for a new session to begin taking lessons!
There are no refunds for any reason, so please pay drop-in if you are not sure you can make it to every class.
Please wear comfortable clothing and something on your feet; socks or ballet slippers are fine. Amazing Spiral has quality belly dance wear for every budget, and they are less than a mile from Meadow Mill. You don't need anything special to attend, but class is more fun with a hipscarf!
Directions below. You can pay in class with cash or a check.

Directions to Meadow Mill
From the South Take I-295, or I-95 and then I-395, towards the Baltimore inner harbor.
Turn right on Pratt Street (about the 5th light from I-295, the 2nd
light from I-395). Turn left on President Street, which ends at I-83
North (a.k.a. the JFX). Take I-83 North to the Falls Road Exit, which puts you on Falls Road heading north. Go through two stop lights and then turn left on Union. From the stop sign at the bottom of the hill, there are two ways to get into the Meadow Mill Complex: 1. Turn left on
Clipper Mill Road and then immediately right over a small bridge. Once in
the parking lot, turn left and go around to the south side of the
complex. 2. Stay on Union past Clipper Mill Road, passing under I-83, and the take your first left down the long ramp just before the light rail tracks.
The Meadow Mill Athletic Club is clearly marked with a large awning. The
parking lot is safe and well lit. Tell reception that you are taking Piper's class and then head left and back to the aerobics room. Please do not call Meadow Mill to ask about classes, as they simply rent studio space, however, if you get lost, their phone # is (410) 235-7000.
From the North Take I-83 south to the Cold Spring Lane Exit. Turn left = east on Cold Spring Lane. Turn right at the first major intersection = Falls Road. Go about 1 mile and turn right on Union. Follow directions as above.
In the map below, Meadow Mill is in the little blip between I-83 and the light railtracks Next to Druid Hill Park. Exit 9 is Cold Spring Lane, Exit 8 (only accessible from I-83 north) is Falls Road. There is a lightrail station right there at Union Street.
Piper's classes
To take private lessons with Piper, or to join small group classes in her home studio (just south of Baltimore, west of BWI), you must already be one of Piper's students, or have recommendations from other teachers or dancers. The cost is $75/hour, payable in advance. The fee can be shared by a maximum of 5 people.
Attendees are responsible for organizing their own groups! If one person or 5 people attend, the total price is the same (e.g. if 5 people attend, that's $15 each). This is something to work out amongst the attendees. Credit will be given for pre-paid classes if they are cancelled 24 hours in advance.
Sometimes, there is an opening in an on-going class; to check if spaces are available, go to Piper's calendar.
